Description
Directions for use:
For full 500g mixture
- Dilute ‘Safe-sprout’ sachet contents in 3L water (cool boiled water is preferable)
- Add sprouting mix to water mixture
- Water should cover the sprouting mix- as the legumes and seed will soak up the water.
- Soak overnight (+/- 12hrs)
- Rinse and drain the following morning until water runs clear.
- A solution of 5ml Organic Apple Cider vinegar to 1L cold water can be used to rinse the Sprouting mixture. *Optional. DO NOT USE BLEACH/ JIK as these contain harmful salts.
- Place sprout mix in sprouting container
- Place in a dark space like grocery cupboard or fridge when climate is hot (remember- in nature seeds sprout underground)
- Rinse again after 12 hrs.
- The sprouting mix can be fed after the first 12 hrs soak or until ‘tails’ of seed appear.
Storage & Feeding:
- Sprouts can be kept in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- For a medium sized parrot- I.e Congo African grey- we recommend 2 Tablespoons of Sprouting Mix / day.
- A little goes a long way- when starting out- rather use less sprouting mix.
